Wood Stain is water-based and ready to use. Made with pigments, it offers an ideal solution to harmonize and enhance parquet floors, furniture, worktops, and interior woodwork, regardless of the type of wood.

Its exceptional ease of application ensures a uniform surface without streaks or overlapping marks, making it particularly well-suited for large surfaces.

Its main advantage lies in its compatibility with a wide range of finishes such as varnish, oil, or wax (solvent- or water-based), without the need for a primer.

In addition, all shades can be mixed together, offering an infinite color palette to meet every aesthetic preference.

Instructions for use:

Surface preparation:

1. Wood Stain must be applied on bare, clean, dry, and sound wood.
2. Parquet floors should be sanded flat.
3. For inter-board joints, apply Giorda Liant beforehand to prevent over-staining.
4. New wood should be lightly sanded with a 120-grit sanding mesh to achieve the most uniform surface possible.
5. Old woodwork should be stripped or sanded.
6. Do not use steel wool (risk of corrosion stains).

Application:

1. Shake well before use.
2. Apply evenly with a brush, spalter, or short-nap roller, working in small sections, following the direction of the grain.
3. As you go, wipe the surface with a lint-free cotton cloth or a single-disc machine fitted with a white pad for large areas. This method ensures a perfectly even result and guarantees good adhesion of the finish.
4. Apply the desired finish after 8 hours of drying: varnish, oils, or waxes. If applying a water-based varnish, lacquer, or oil, lightly sand before the final coat.
5. When applying a "white" stain on tannic woods (oak, chestnut), it is recommended, for professional use only, to add 20% Giorda Wood Hardener to the Wood Stain. Recommended finishes: Mono/Duo Invisible Varnish or Blanchon Bio-based Environmental Oil.

Drying and recoating times:

Under normal conditions:
- Dust-dry: 15 to 30 minutes
- Recoatable: 8 hours
- Do not leave metal objects (tools) in contact with the wood during drying

Coverage: 1 liter covers 15 m² per coat.
