Michelangelo Adhesive is a high-strength glue specially designed for miter joints and tight seams. It is suitable for use on marble, granite, natural stone, engineered stone, ceramic, and porcelain stoneware. It is intended for indoor flooring only.
Its thin-layer application allows for nearly invisible joints while maintaining optimal strength. Matched to the color of Carrara marble, it can also be customized by adding pigment-based colorants to achieve different shades.
Unlike most adhesives on the market, Michelangelo maintains its original color during the curing process, making color matching easier.
The adhesive begins to harden just 10 minutes after application. Additionally, it offers excellent adhesion, low shrinkage, and reaches its maximum strength after a full 24-hour cure.
Instructions for use:
1. The surfaces to be bonded must be clean, dry, and free of dust, grease, foreign substances, and/or friable material. Polished or glossy surfaces should be sanded beforehand.
2. Use as is or mix with suitable colorants (maximum 2%) or powders from the same type of stone.
3. Mix thoroughly with 3% by weight of hardener. The mixture remains workable for a short time, depending on the amount of adhesive and hardener used, temperature, thickness, etc.
4. Clean tools with solvents.
5. Once cured, the product retains a semi-opaque white appearance depending on thickness.
6. About 3 hours after curing (at 23°C), the material can be worked (sanded, polished, etc.).
A slight tackiness after bonding enhances adhesion. The adhesive reaches its full performance after 24 hours. Michelangelo glue stands out from similar products on the market due to its good resistance to yellowing indoors.
Caution:
- Styrene is released during application and curing. Protect your hands with waterproof gloves and ventilate the area to minimize vapor inhalation.
- High temperatures (>30°C) or a hardener content over 2% accelerate the reaction and reduce adhesion, potentially causing slight darkening of the adhesive.
- Low temperatures (<5°C) and/or a hardener content below 1% slow the reaction and may result in a slightly greasy surface feel.
- Freezing and thawing, as well as frequent and extreme changes in temperature or humidity, reduce mechanical strength.
- Once cured, the adhesive can only be removed mechanically.
